The Mummy 4: Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz film in Tangier, Tetouan and Asilah

The fourth film in the Mummy saga, The Mummy: Book of the Dead, is being filmed in northern Morocco at the end of October 2026, in Tangier, Tetouan and Asilah.

Tangier’s medina turned into a souk

Filming in the north is announced from 23 to 31 October 2026. In Tangier, shooting was due to begin on Monday 26 October, after several days of set building.

• Tangier: the Kasbah and Bab El Bhar squares, in the medina facing the port, have been dressed with stalls and shop signs to evoke traditional souks.
• Tetouan and Asilah: the two other towns chosen for this Moroccan stage.

The film began shooting on 7 September 2026 in London.

More than 1,240 people involved

The crew numbers more than 1,240 actors, technicians and production staff. Security services, auxiliary forces and Civil Protection are deployed around the locations.

Rick and Evelyn return

Brendan Fraser returns as Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz as Evelyn, a role she had not played since The Mummy Returns in 2001. John Hannah is back as Jonathan Carnahan and Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay.

The film is directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, the duo known as Radio Silence (Ready or Not, Abigail), from a screenplay by David Coggeshall.
